Caring for the Community

Clinton Memorial was built by the sweat and tears of many people, including the farmers who toiled in their fields by day, and worked on the hospital property at night and the ladies Auxiliary that raised money, canned vegetables and sewed linens. Clinton Memorial Hospital, located in St. Johns, was formally dedicated on Friday, Nov. 11, 1927, and has been serving the acute and primary health needs of Clinton County residents for over 75 years.

Clinton Memorial Hospital has not only survived, but has thrived over the past 75 years, thanks mainly to the support of the community both financially and emotionally. The early 1990's saw Clinton Memorial affiliate with the Sparrow Health System of Lansing - an arrangement that allowed the hospital to expand and grow and be more responsible to the community's need for greater technology and more healthcare opportunities offered locally.

The hospital was literally reborn, as it was rebuilt from the inside out in 1997-98. A $10.5 million rebuilding process brought new technology, a more patient friendly design and a more modern, appealing look to the healthcare facility that continues to provide the community with a full range of high quality, compassionate, personal and easily accessible health care.
